In November 1994...

Mark Longo initiated the first Hammond / Leslie mailing list on the internet with 18 members. As word got out, the membership roll exploded, attracting hundreds of Hammond and Leslie Craftsmen, Dealers, Players, Technicians and Hobbyists from all over the world. This first Hammond List's success and popularity far surpassed the expectations of its founder, releasing a nearly continuous stream of Hammond/Leslie history, anecdotes, Hammond Factory stories and techniques, repair tips and trade secrets to subscribers, or anyone who wished to wander through the publicly available archives.

In an era before spam, before pop-up ads, before Internet Explorer, and before all the flame wars, hammond@zk3.dec.com was a sterling example of the possibilities of information exchange of the internet. That first list was the best of the breed, and it existed in a moment in time that will never come again. Everyone who was a subscriber to that list remembers the excitement of that time, when many lifetimes' worth of closely-held knowledge and hard-won experience became available through the generosity of the community of members and the foresight of its founder.

To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the founding of the world's first Hammond E-mail list, Mark Longo himself has created a T-shirt design that we're offering for sale. The front of the shirt has Mark's HAMMOND@zk3.dec.com preset/octave design, and the back will carry a reproduction of his inaugural list post. These are direct screen printed on 6.1oz 100% cotton premium color pre-shrunk "Cardinal" T-shirts. Sizes M, L, and XL are $16 each, and XXL are $18. Please add $3 shipping for 1 shirt within the continental US, and an additional $2 for two or more shirts. These shipping amounts will be automatically figured.

Shipping charges for Canada and other countries will be determined if anybody outside the US wants a shirt.
